Luke 10:25-37
“Be Compassionate” (The Good Samaritan)
This second Sunday of July, we will continue to explore the ways Jesus invites people to step forward into awkward and challenging situations. Our texts this month suggest vulnerability, compassion, presence, and persistence are qualities we are encouraged to cultivate as students of Jesus.
Last week we considered how, for those in the habit of helping others, allowing people to help us can be a spiritual practice. This week we find ourselves on the road to Jericho, sharing the familiar story of the Good Samaritan.
