Luke 24:13-35

“Walking the Road”

This week’s story asks how is it we can travel so long together and never “see” each other. The Risen Christ joins those who have known him in life on the road to Emmaus. Jesus is not recognized until they share a meal at the journey’s end. There is a distance between life-upending events and figuring out “what now”. We know things intellectually about each other our hearts cannot yet take in. When we finally recognize those in our midst, everything shifts.
