For the next several weeks, we will hold the words of three Prophets, Hosea, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, in conversation with the words of Matthew. Of all our Gospel writers, Matthew works most intentionally to tie the stories of Jesus into the larger Jewish tradition and the Hebrew Bible. In this series, we explore Matthew’s Messiah, a Jewish Messiah who tells us the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
