1 Corinthians 1:18-24

“Signs & Wisdom”

We continue our study of the letters of the Apostle Paul. We are jumping out of lectionary order so that we may visit a reading that typically pops up in the fall, 1 Corinthians 1:18-24.

Paul writes to real people and tailors his message. Different people are persuaded with different kinds of knowledge. Paul suggests that there is a super-rationality beyond logic and the signature beneath wondrous signs.
