Doubt & Evil Study
The Faithfulness of Doubt and the Politics of Evil
April 27th – May 4th
Easter is a season of celebration but also confusion. The disciples do not yet know what to make of the Ressurection. The disciple Thomas demanded to touch Jesus’ wounds. Does this make him sinful? For two weeks we will focus on how the historic church had classified doubt and disbelief as evil. We will use our lectionary readings from the gospel of John chapters twenty and twenty-one to peer more deeply into church teachings and our own hearts.
Drop in for one or both Sunday scripture studies. Each study is about 45 minutes long. Reflection pages are provided each week.
We will meet in the parlor at Trinity UMC following coffee hour on Sunday mornings. (511 Oak Street, Colusa) Anyone may attend regardless religious background, belief, Christian experience, or church affiliation. Enjoy a lively discussion and snacks.
