Luke 19:28-40 and Luke 23:33-47
“Palms & Passion”

We are nearing the end of Lent. This sixth Sunday we hear the stories of Jesus’ “Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem” and His death on the cross flanked by criminals. But why does the church consider Jesus’s arrival a triumph and his death a time for deep mourning? His borrowed ride into town as people proclaimed him a king and His gentle compassion at the end as he died mocked and ignored suggest a more complicated and intriguing revelation.
