The method of Methodism
Classes and groups offer the opportunity to grow in community with others.
Where to start? Growing in Faith
You can start with any class you like. No faith commitment, belief, or prior experience is needed to join a class. We do recommend Growing in Faith as a great introductory class.
Classes are a great way to learn more about yourself, the Bible, Christian history, and our Methodist flavor of the faith. Check the dropdown menu “Learn” for our current classes and other ways to learn.
Methodism began as small groups of people deciding to take their spiritual lives seriously by meeting together. Methodism wasn’t a church but a method. Classes and small groups have been baked into Methodism from the beginning. If you like learning, you are in the right place.
Cultivate your own Spiritual Practices
The core of Methodism remains a commitment to do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God. Beyond classes, reflective spiritual practice can help us to stay in love with God.
Spiritual practices may take many forms. For example, you may choose to follow the lectionary cycle of scriptural readings, practice lectio divina, participate in contemplative prayer, exercise mindfully, or share what is on your heart with God. These links provide a starting point for your journey. Remember, spiritual practice is a bit like pickling. You need to marinade is a practice for a while to get the flavor of it into your life.
