John 15:1-8
“Abide in Me”
Who is Jesus Christ, exactly? These weeks between Easter Sunday and Pentecost offer us some clues. Our reading from 1 John 3:1-2 two weeks ago indicated that the followers of Jesus will become Christlike when we fully understand. This week’s reading from John 15:1-8 tells us alignment with the path of Jesus runs deeper than surface-level behaviors. Jesus Christ is the vine. We are branches. Being a student of Christ means abiding in Christ as Christ abides in us. How shall we do this?
