Luke 4:21-30

“Means of Grace”

Jesus says scripture is fulfilled in a world of poverty, injustice, and war; in a world where Elijah could not feed every orphan and widow or Elisha heal everyone hurting. Salvation doesn’t magically fix the world’s problems. Salvation is a gift that requires us to act. The means of grace call us to personal piety and into a life of social holiness and service.
