“Challenged”
For three worship services this next week: Transfiguration Sunday, Ash Wednesday, and our first Sunday of Lent, we are talking about places of spiritual transformation in our lives. Where do we most come into ourselves? Where are we remade?
It turns out that who we are shines most clearly at the edges of daily experience: at the heights, during rethinking and repentance, and in the temptations of wilderness times. None of these spaces are the comfy green pastures we prefer.
We meet on the first Sunday of Lent to consider Jesus’ own temptation in the wilderness.
