2 Corinthians 4:6-4:12
“Clay Jars”
This Communion Sunday, we continue on with “Letters from Paul,” turning toward 2 Corinthians. Paul’s letters are the earliest writings in our Christian Bible. In this series, we will consider scripture from Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Philemon, Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, and Galatians. We will also touch on Ephesians. (Mid-summer we will enjoy a light, 4-week study to help ground our understanding of the Apostle Paul.) In today’s reading, Paul says we are jars of clay. We hold the light of Christ within us, even as we live messy, human lives. The awe and goodness we sometimes experience, despite our human limitations, point to a grander reality we cannot fully comprehend.
